Picnic at Park -Boat Shed

Picnic- Boat Shed

A comparison of site
A park and the boat sheds show significant contrast. The park is an open large space whilst the boat sheds are a confined closed in space. It will be important to try and communicate the idea of openness through my re-designed boat shed.

The Idea

To create a space that is accessible to those who wish to go for a picnic but are prevented to do so by external elements such as the weather or the time of day. This inside picnic space will be a B.Y.O. food and drink keeping with the traditional idea of a picnic. The space is to be semi-casual, basic restaurant setting and grass features.

Plan Drawing

Create a space that has nooks and closed of spaces but still gives the impression of openness and length.

Elevation Drawing
Large windows to encourage an aspect of indoor out door flow (windows along roof and front).

Section Drawing

Wooden textures encourage a casual feel. Grass patches and detailing; brings one of the more important aspects of having a picnic inside.
